Playing in the snow

We got our first real snow this week. Bella had so much fun dressing up in her snow stuff and going outside. She loves to pick up the snow and throw it in the air. Yesterday we took John outside too, he wasn't as into it as her. But I have to say he did better than I thought he would. Bella and I just tried to go out again, got her all dressed up but it's just way too windy outside. That's really all we've done this week, we haven't even left the house because of the weather.

We saw Santa!

So yesterday we got up early to go shopping. It was of course crazy and packed. We went to Kohl's and got some great deals on clothes and a few presents for the kids. We had to stand in line 2 hours, but it was fun. The people standing with us were nice and Bella socialized with everyone. John was miserable though, hungry and tired.

Today we went to the mall to meet Santa. Isabella was excited as we walked in and he was waving at her to come over. But she wasn't so sure about sitting in his lap. She was just nervous so we stuck John up there with her. He instantly burst into tears which sent Bella over the edge. So weird since John's usually the social one but he did NOT like this man. Santa was so nice though. I loved the real beard, very authentic. I think the picture of them both screaming is adorable though. So classic.

Happy Turkey Day!!!!!!

We had a good Turkey Day. We all woke up early (which doesn't happen often) and went to pick up our turkey. It still amazes me how happy Isabella always wakes up, seriously less than two seconds later she's talking away happily. John's more like me and isn't happy about waking up, always cries. He was ready for the day after a bottle though.

So we got our Turkey home and popped it in the oven (it smelled so yummy.) And the kids took a nap (Isabella's was extra long since she's still sick.) Corey helped me cook and did pretty good, he had fun. It was pretty crazy trying to get so much cooked in our teeny tiny kitchen but it worked out. The meal was great. It was all food John could eat (except the green beans) and he made quite the mess. Then the kids took a long and much needed bath and took another short nap.

I'm totally ready for bed and it's not even 8pm. Who knew eating could be so much work. I'm looking forward to my leftover turkey sandwhich though. And it looks like John has caught what Bella has. He's starting to cough a bit and I imagine either tomorrow or the next day he'll be hacking away too.

It's been so long since I updated that I don't even really remember what happened. We had an average weekend, went to the mall and got Christmas pajamas for the kids and their Christmas ornaments. Isabella picked up a cold of some sorts and has a nasty cough. It's surprisingly her first cold ever, she's rarely been sick at all and every time before it was a stomach bug. I'm still hoping she won't give it to John but realize the chances are slim, they share everything germs included.

The kids got another late Birthday gift in the mail. Bathtub books and crayons which the LOVE of course. And Bella's was Nemo which she loves even more. I think John was happy to just actually get a toy in the tub, usually Bella claims it all and leaves him nothing. Of course he's so happy to just splash that he doesn't care.

This picture is so cute to me. Bella has the toys from her birthday cake still which are from the movie Madagascar. And then she has her bounce and spin Zebra in her room. This is how I found it the other day. She took the little Zebra from the living room into her room and put it under the big Zebra. I guess she thought the baby should be with the mommy.

Christmas Pictures

We took Christmas pictures yesterday. I had to get them done so I could order Christmas cards, we have a long list this year. I spent the whole day decorating and then the kids were awful during pictures. Isabella closed her eyes in almost every single pictures and they took turns crying. But it turned out okay in the end, I'm just thankful for photo editing programs.

I wasn't planning to use santa hats but I found toddler sized ones at wal-mart for $2 and had to pick them up. The kids love the hats. I think once we get into December I'll let Isabella wear hers everywhere.

I was going to take all the decorations back down and wait until Thanksgiving to put the up officially but it's seems like such a waste of time with Thanksgiving so soon. And our living room is pretty dark so it's nice having the tree lights on. Thankfully the kids have been really good about not messing with my tree. It's pretty high from the ground to the bottom branches so John can't really reach and I put some of the kid friendly ornaments at the bottom and Bella likes those.

Bella just wanted to keep giving John kisses. She sure does love him.

Saturday!

Today we went to Temple Square. It was fun going on the tours and the kids were so good! I still can't believe how well behaved they were, even mr. grouchy was good. Bella enjoyed showing off and all the missionaries fell in love with her. It was kind of icky out but I liked it, cold and wet (but not too wet.) Afterwards we had lunch at the mall. Just a perfect Saturday together.

John has once again been soooo moody tonight. He wouldn't eat his dinner, lately he hates the texture of food. Anything touches his tongue and he gags and screams. It was a disaster trying to feed him. Sometimes he's really good though so you never know what will happen. Probably won't ever try to give him rice again though because that's what set him off. He drinks rice milk and eats rice cereal so I figured he'd like rice but he flipped out when it touched him. And then of course it stuck to him (all over him) and he totally freaked.

Bella ready to eat!

John needs a nap.

We got a tiny bit a snow last night, well I guess it was tiny. We didn't go outside until noon and by then it was melting fast. Anyway had to let Isabella out in her snow pants and boots. I got her a pair of Weebok boots that are so cute. She loves them and loved running around in her new stuff.

We all went to the movies today and saw The Santa Clause 3. It was cute, better than I expected it to be. John slept the entire time which was the best.

Not much else new happening with us though. John's been kind of crabby lately, he's either got allergies or a mild cold and it's making him clingy. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon, all you have to do is touch him and he cries.

John finally got a winter jacket (or jackie as Bella likes to say.) Doesn't he look cute? John's being super needy/cuddly today. I like the cuddles but hate it when he screams if I don't hold him. So different from his sister.

We getting ready for the holidays around here. Isabella decided that snowmen are called "pokey" just like pumpkins. How cute, so we get to hear her keep saying pokey now. I'm nervous about these two around a Christmas tree though, I wonder who's gonna knock it down first.

The kids got a late birthday package from our friend Suzanne (who's just too sweet.) They both got really cute shirts and cell phones. This is what happened when we took John's phone away to try to get a picture of his shirt. It's my new favorite of him, definitely captures his personality.

And John decided that he should get both of the cell phones. Isabella later set him straight.

Isabella's new hat. She got a happy meal and ever since has been wearing the box on her head. She loves it. Right now she's working on a puzzle, it's so cute to see her thinking so hard on where each piece goes. She also started saying pancake on her own this morning. Or shall we say "cancake." She was so excited about breakfast.

John's been having fun playing with his toys. He's taken new interest in the Little People farm set that we have. It's so sweet to see him actually playing with the toys and not just throwing them everywhere. Of course he still enjoys throwing them.

Not much else has happened around here. Saturday we went to the pioneer museum which was fun. Isabella loved running around a "new" place, and luckily everything was kept safely behind glass away from her. We haven't been to Thanksgiving Point in awhile though so probably we'll do that this weekend.

Halloween

I wrote my last post (that was supposed to be with the video) twice and both times blogger ate it. I think the video messed it up somehow. So annoying. Anyway we had a pretty good Halloween. We carved our pumpkin and watched Halloween episodes from all our favorite shows. Then we all got dressed up and took the kids out. Isabella LOVED it and much to our surprise didn't get scared at all. She marched right up to every door (and tried to open them) and then got her candy. She said thank you to everyone. John hated it, he was cold (it was very cold out) and mad about the stroller and everything. We ended up coming home early because of mr. grumpy. He's such a party pooper.

We had a huge bowl full of candy to pass out and only one person came! Now I have WAY too much candy. At least I got it all on sale with coupons. We'll have candy all year now. I gave Isabella a few pieces of candy and she was bouncing off the walls going crazy. Then after I went to bed Corey gave her more (no idea what he was thinking.) She woke up at 6am (she normally sleeps till 10am) and was still going crazy with her sugar rush. It was funny but I wouldn't want to deal with it for long.
