"I'm a really super good builder"

Today Bella built a lego house all by herself following the "constructions." She just looked at the pictures and knew what to do. And boy was she proud of herself when she got done. She says she's a really super good builder, even better than Daddy.

And we got this new set of Legos yesterday with some Christmas money I had been saving. Corey and I had fun building it, and the kids are loving playing with it.

Pregnancy Sucks

I figure it's time for a long overdue update. First off I'll be 33 weeks on Saturday. Hard to believe we'll have a baby in just a few weeks (hopefully several weeks.)

I can eat and drink and up until yesterday I had gone 3 months with no IVs. Found out while being poked several times last night though that my veins have not yet recovered from their many months of abuse. And I've gained a whopping 6 pounds this pregnancy, I imagine a good 4-5 pounds of that is the actual baby at this point. Losing the baby weight should sure be easy though.

Like the other pregnancies I've had constant contractions for weeks now (10+ weeks to be exact.) In the past couple of weeks they've gotten much worse. So my OB checked things out at yesterday's appointment and my cervix is not behaving. So I got sent straight to L&D. Got two meds to stop contractions, they did not stop the contractions though. But my fFN test was negative so we're hopeful to cook the baby at least another 2 weeks. And I got steroid shots to help mature the lungs faster. My OB expects I'll deliver around 35-36 weeks. I'm really hoping to make it to 36 though.

So my doctors instructions were if I have more than 4 contractions in an hour take Procardia to stop them. If after taking the meds I still have more than 6 in an hour go to L&D. So in L&D they gave me terbutaline, procardia and 2 bags of IV fluids. And when they sent me home I was still having more than 6 contractions an hour. So much for that rule right. I was back there again tonight (getting my second steroid shot) and again was having that many contractions when they sent me home. So I don't really think I'll be following those instructions exactly, I would need to just move into L&D.

More Talking

Phoebe is now trying to say "Bella." I thought I heard her try a few times recently while I was calling for Bella to do something and today she's been doing it more. Doesn't exactly sound like "Bella" but it's the thought that counts. John is totally sad and jealous that she's not trying to say his name, which is funny because it's more than obvious that Phoebe loves John more than anyone else in this house.

She does NOT like baths

Phoebe HATES baths. Screams and tries to climb out the whole time. It could be worse though, at least she doesn't poop in the water everytime while screaming like John did. We had to put him in swim diapers during every bath for a year.

My Little Artist

Phoebe figured out the Magna-Doodle and loves it. All her pictures look the same though.

Legos

We love Legos, what kid doesn't. Bella got her first Legos (Quatros) when she was 10 months old.

We then moved on to the Duplo Legos when she was about 19 months old. She really fell in love with those when she was three and became a building maniac while I was pregnant with Phoebe. And still she will spend hours a day building.

Photobucket

Just yesterday I decided to pull out some of Corey's old legos to see if the kids were interested in them (the small ones) I had tried awhile back and it didn't go over too well. This time though they liked them. And much to my surprise John, who doesn't spend much time at all playing legos has fallen in love. It's been two days of non-stop building fun.

Tonight we picked up two new sets of blocks for them since most of Corey's old ones were special pieces from advanced sets and not basic blocks. And I'm glad to see the selection of "girly" legos has also improved since I was little.

The only problem is trying to keep miss Phoebe away from all the TINY little pieces. I'm really missing the big legos. But John has informed me that he will no longer be playing big legos, because he's a big boy now.

Color Guides

Photobucket
Bella loves to color and she's always asking me what color to color things in her pictures. So I found these color guides pictures today at the store and knew she'd love them. Each picture has a matching guide card so she knows exactly what color to make everything. Plus it's Little Einsteins which she LOVES.

Balloon Animals

We went to kids eat free night at Chick-fil-a tonight and they had people doing balloon animals. The kids (and Corey) thought it was pretty cool. Well except Phoebe, she was pretty freaked out about the creepy guy standing at our table with balloons.

Legos

According to Bella:

"It's a camel. It looks like a cow, but it's really a camel."

You'd think he was using a real computer

But he's not. He's just very good at pretending.

Snack time

Nothing exciting really just a video of the kids trying to help Phoebe get her snack. Unfortunately she thinks everyone is out to get her (and her food.)

I'd like to thank...

  • First off my children for sharing their lovely stomach virus with me.
  • Secondly Hyperemesis for making said virus 10x worse than it ever needed to be.
  • Zofran and Phenergan for failing to do ANYTHING to decrease the vomiting.

And on a more serious note

  • My husband for being so helpful
  • My kids for being so extremely well behaved and quietly entertaining themselves all day while I was too sick to move.
