The kids carved their pumpkins today. Bella loved it, she's really into the gross stuff. It was just like last year where her favorite part was messing with all the pumpkin guts in the big bowl. John did better than I expected, didn't really touch anything with his hands but he really likes pumpkins (aka pokins.)
We went to the pumpkin patch this morning to get our Halloween pumpkins. The kids should have fun carving them later this week. Hopefully it won't be as cold this Halloween as last year. John still has that cold, it's been two weeks now. I guess it just doesn't want to go away, and now Bella has caught it. Nothing else new around here.
We went to a Halloween carnival today, held by the early intervention program here. It was cute and lots of fun. The kids enjoyed all the different games and food. And we got to see John's old physical therapist as well, which was really nice. But by the end both kids were really cranky, they didn't get a nap today and it definitely showed. The pictures we did take turned out just awful. I should have just put the camera in auto but didn't think of it because I never shoot in auto and Corey forgot to change the focal point while he was taking pictures. So half of them have the kids fuzzy and the games in focus. Not to mention the horrible lighting and the place was packed full of people and kids, it was crazy.
We got a tiny bit of snow last night. Bella instantly noticed it when she woke up this morning. She was so excited and just had to go "play" in it. So I let her put on her snow suit and boots and go out. I wasn't going to let John out because he's still sick but he really wanted to so I let him out for a few minutes. I think he'll enjoy it a lot more this winter than last. I can't believe we're already hitting winter again, it's great to see the kids loving it though. The pictures are pretty bad since I took them through the window (I was not in the mood to stand in the cold first thing this morning.)
Poor John is sick. I could tell he was coming down with something when we got home on Sunday. It's been slowly progressing until it peaked last night. Of course it's just a cold so I can live with that. As long as no one is puking I'm happy. I thought Bella got it because she was really cranky yesterday but seems okay today so who knows. I'm just waiting for my turn now.
We got Bella some new clothes at the outlet mall in Vegas so I wrapped them up for her birthday, she loved them. We went out to dinner last night and they sang happy birthday to her and she got ice cream. The kids have been quite cranky the last two days, the fall out of our trip I guess. Always takes them awhile to adjust to these things.
It's hard to believe Bella's 3 years old. She's excited but definitely is confused about this whole birthday thing. I think she thinks this is her third birthday in a month or something. But she knows that this time it's only hers and not John's. We just got back from 4 days in Las Vegas, the kids stayed with their grandparents and seem to have had a great time. Bella keeps talking about the swings and slides. Now I have a living room full of things that need to be put away and absolutely no desire to do it. Anyway John has speech therapy in half an hour so I'm off to tidy up what I can.
