Updates

I figured it's time for some general updates (before I forget stuff.) I'll start with John, in good news he has officially outgrown all of his food allergies that we know of. We were holding off on peanuts until age 3, we did this with Bella too but especially him due to his past allergies to legumes. But he decided to take matters into his own hands, Bella and Corey were eating peanut butter cups and I told John he couldn't have any. He was not happy with that and ripped it out of Bella's hands and shoved it in his mouth faster than you could blink (I have NEVER seen him do anything like that before.) So we watched him for a reaction and nothing happened so I let him have some more later and still nothing so I think we're clear for now. And on the food topic he is getting so much better at trying foods. He's still very picky but when I tell him he has to take a bite he will usually do it. He even ate broccoli awhile back (several bites of it.)

In not so good news it seems my hopes of him graduating out of early intervention before age 3 are over. I wasn't expecting him to still qualify at the last evaluation but still thought he'd be out before he turned 3. At his last appointment though they brought out the person that handles transitioning as they do think he'll still qualify at that time. So it looks like we're transitioning to the school system (I really never thought we'd be in this long.) His speech is really improving but his cognitive skills are still really low. This will be good for him though, I think he'll benefit from the social interaction a lot. And he'll get to ride the school bus which I know he'll just go nuts over.

Bella is so excited about Baby Pokey. She's been able to feel her kick and is always coming up to my tummy and asking if she's awake. I think she actually understands that a real baby is in there. And she keeps asking if we can go to the hospital so that baby Pokey can come out. I've been informed from her that the baby will be coming out of my belly button, she didn't even ask she just told me that's what will happen.

3rd Trimester!

Yay I'm finally in the 3rd trimester. I'm very ready to be over this. Feeling pretty good lately, not too sick and not too many contractions. Dreading my 3rd trimester HG relapse though (gonna be optimistic and hope it doesn't happen.) I've got the nursery almost finished, gonna get a changing table this week which will sort of finish it up in there.

Bella has become completely obsessed with cloth diapers and it's so cute. She keeps stealing my stuff to use on all her stuffed animals. This girl has skill though, she can fold a prefold onto a bear perfectly (keeps asking for pins but I won't let her have them.) Then after she has the prefold on she takes a fitted diaper and uses that as her "cover." I got some newborn fluff in the mail this week and it's so cute and tiny, can't wait to see it on a baby butt.

Bella's almost done playing soccer, she has two games left. She really likes it. Well she likes practicing a lot more than the games (because she can never get to the ball during the game.) Yesterday she managed to kick it twice during the game though (and once was actually in the right direction.) She got sad because she couldn't get the ball and didn't want to play anymore and I told her to go get the ball and kick it, so out on the field she went to get it. Then she stopped looked to the side and started running off the field, Corey and I had no idea what she was doing. Turns out she saw a ball sitting on the side and ran off to get it, took it out onto the field and starting kicking it towards the goal. So everyone is on one end of the field playing the game and Bella's on the other end with her own ball.

He didn't graduate

John had his evaluation for Early Intervention a couple weeks ago and we got the results today. I really thought he was finally going to stop qualifying and graduate but it didn't happen. He qualified for services in 3 of the 4 areas they tested. He tested a year behind in cognitive and self-help. Speech has greatly improved but is still in the qualifying area. After 2 and a half years of this I'm ready to be done.

On to baby news we finally got our new windows installed and can finally start decorating the nursery. Hopefully we can get it painted tomorrow and start making some progress. I'm very excited as I never got to do a nursery for Bella or John and have always wanted to.

And did I mention that Bella stole my baby name and used it to name her baby doll? Here I thought I had picked a name that I didn't have to worry about other people stealing. She's very excited and spends half the day diapering her dolls.
