Opening Shop

So I opened an Etsy shop because people kept asking if I had one.  I'm still highly skeptical that I'll actually sell anything on it but it's there now at least for when people ask.  I'm quite addicted to knitting anyway and the kids already have more hats than they need so I figure at least this is a way to have a reason to keep buying yarn.

So my shop can be found here : Hazelnut Knits

This past week Hazel has been helping model hats for me.  She seems to enjoy it.  She loves hats and is always stealing the big kids hats off their coat hooks and wearing them around the house.  Though ironically won't keep her own on in the van.

Here's some pictures of some of the hats I made.  Some I took to use in the shop, others just because Hazel is cute and I figured it was a good opportunity to get pictures of her anyway.  And Phoebe is in a few too.

Hazel (or as we like to call her Hazelbum)

We were outside yesterday raking leaves and I decided to take some pictures of Hazel.  We had fun putting everyone's different hats on her and she didn't seem to mind.

She's my third kid to be the thumb sucker, but is by far the most passionate about it.  I'm trying to limit daytime sucking though.

And I got her to sit still the whole time by sticking her on this bucket.  It's tall enough that she was a little too nervous to get off it it.

Bella's MRI

Today Bella had an MRI done of her spine.  She's a toe walker and the doctors haven't found a cause for it so they wanted to make sure everything is as it should be with her spine.  We don't have results yet though.  She was really nervous about it, she's had an MRI before but she was two and doesn't remember it.  She knew she'd have to get an IV and that's what scared her the most.  But then we got there and went in and she saw the murals on the walls and her fear disappeared.  And when it came to the IV she didn't even flinch, the nurses said she was the bravest they've seen.

Lots of orcas and dolphins, all her favorite animals. Suddenly she was so excited to be there and quickly went to work coloring.

We got called back quick though so there wasn't much time to color. She got her vitals taken and then passed the time reading and watching Netflix on my phone.

Then they put her to sleep and she woke up a couple hours later. She kept shaking after she woke up which freaked her out and caused her to shake even more. It was a pretty ugly cycle for a bit but as soon as she got up and into the wheelchair she snapped out of it and was back to herself quickly.

Halloween

Halloween was great this year, absolutely perfect.  Usually we just do trick or treating at the mall and the zoo.  It didn't work out this year though because the zoo did it on Saturday and we went to Lagoon instead since it was the last day of the season.  And then the mall did it on Monday from 4-6pm and Corey doesn't get home early enough for that.  So I felt like I had to take the kids door to door and didn't really want to.  Our neighborhood has houses with steep steps, poor railing and tiny porches, not so great with little kids.  But the kids really wanted to go and the weather was good so we went.

The weather ended up being perfect, even Bella wasn't cold in her little witch dress.  When I woke up the next morning it was snowing so mother nature was kind to us this year.  A big reason I like the mall is it's not cold.  So anyway this was Phoebe first time going door to door and really trick-or-treating and she LOVED it.  It was so much fun to watch her.  Towards the end she tripped and fell and hit the ground pretty hard.  I thought for sure she'd cry but instead she jumped up and ran on shouting "I'm fine, I'm fine, let's go!"  She's asked to go again every day since then.

Oh and we went to dinner first since kids ate free that night at Chili's.  So we switched Phoebe and Hazel's costumes to something more eating friendly (we already had them in our Halloween bucket.)
