Merry Christmas

We had a really good Christmas. It snowed a bunch last night so we woke up to a beautiful white Christmas. We took our time opening gifts and spread it out through the whole day. The kids opened some and played and then some more, took a nap and back to opening gifts.

Bella got a doll house and some snap-n-style dolls (which she really likes.) A new baby doll, Candy Land, some books and other things. Corey got a bonus at work so we did get her some My Little Pony toys and one of those horse heads on a stick which she just LOVES.

John finally got a toy laptop, he's been wanting one forever. And I got him his own doll stroller since he kept taking Bella's. And then his favorite thing is his new toy cars. He opened up some Hotwheels and after that didn't want to open anything else. I even had more cars for him to open and he just kept throwing the present to the side so he could keep playing.

More snow

We got more snow last night and more is supposed to be on the way soon.

A new obsession

Bella's new obsession is horses. We have the movie Spirit and Bella has really gotten into it lately, and we have the soundtrack to it as well. All she wants to watch now is that movie and begs to listen to the "horsey song." Even John's gotten in on it. He finally put two words together for the first time today and it was "horsey song." All of Bella's animal toys are now horses as well. I wish she had become obsessed with them earlier because I would have gotten her some My Little Pony toys for Christmas but I'm done with the shopping and there's no more toy money now so that will have to wait.

It's a good movie for her to like because it's not annoying to listen too. There's virtually no conversations in the movie at all and only limited voiceover. I'll admit I bought the movie and soundtrack for myself before I even got married.

John's big thing has become cars. He is such a boy, loves trains and trucks and cars. And makes all the sounds to go with them. It's neat to see the kids develop differently, we've raised them the same with the same toys and certainly quite gender neutral but Bella loves the dolls and nurturing and John loves the trucks.

Both kids are sick with a cold now. Bella insists that she isn't sick though and doesn't need any medicine, but I beg to differ. Hopefully they'll get over it fast and be feeling good for Christmas. Looks like we're supposed to get a white Christmas this year too.

Winter Celebration

Tuesday was the winter celebration at the early intervention place. John had a lot of fun playing around the center and doing the activities. His favorite part was just dancing though, they had this big rug with letters on it that he really seemed to like. Both kids are terrified of Santa though so they didn't enjoy that part.

Baby Bella

We had another big snowstorm come through last night. Bella loves playing in the snow. Last night we took the kids to see the Bee Movie, I didn't expect it to be very good but it was really funny. Corey loved it too. Bella is very into bees lately because she sees them on Winnie the Pooh, that and honey so it was a perfect movie for her.

More Snow

We woke up to lots of snow today. Much more than I had expected. Bella had lots of fun and we made a big snowman, John wasn't into it much though. It's still snowing pretty hard so I'll probably take Bella out to play again later.
