We finally got some real snow last night. I didn't know if it'd stick around till this morning so I let the kids go out and play in it last night (in the dark.) I helped Bella make her first snowman, which she of course named Pokey. Then we went back out this morning to play some more. I think it's supposed to snow more this weekend too. And John actually enjoyed playing in the snow too. Notice how the kids are wearing the same coats as last winter, Bella is still wearing the same snow pants too. Seriously these kids just don't grow.
John had speech therapy today. He's doing really well and his vocabulary is growing rapidly. We're working harder on trying to get him to combine words now, everytime he tries the first word just gets lost in the translation. His next 6 month evaluation is next spring and I don't expect him to still qualify at that point. He's already been in EI for 21 months so by then I think I'll be more than ready to be done with it.
We had a good Thanksgiving. The turkey turned out so good and the kids enjoyed dinner. Bella doesn't like turkey though, but she thought the cranberry sauce was jello and like that a lot. John is absolutely in love with egg nog, he sucks it down by the glass full and then begs for more. I figure it's a great way to fatten him up considering 4 oz. has 10 grams of fat and over 200 calories. He now drinks regular milk too, took a long time for him to get used to the taste of it but he likes it now.
We got the kids new beds last weekend. Bella loves hers but John's staying in the toddler bed for awhile still since the other is too big for him. But we moved him out of his converted crib and into Bella's old toddler bed so he still thinks he got a new bed too.
Now I'm just staying up waiting to go black friday shopping. I figure it's not worth even going to bed since there's no way I can wake up that early. Corey and I are in serious need of some new clothes and we've been waiting a long time for black friday to get here.
Bella got a haircut this week. She hates having her hair brushed and it was getting tangled a lot lately. I really like the cut she got, it's so cute on her and easy to manage. And it's still long enough to french braid.
We put our Christmas tree up last week and got the kids new ornaments last weekend. They are discontinuing the series ornaments we've gotten the kids each year so we got John his 3rd year one and didn't do the 4th year for Bella. This way they'll both have the first 3 years. So from now on their ornaments will for a special interest they have that year, so of course Bella picked out Winnie the Pooh. She was so excited about it and when we got it out of the box she was playing with it and talking to it. She was absolutely heartbroken when we made her put it on the tree. But I have some old Mickey and Minnie mouse ornaments that are made of rubber so I've let her keep those out to play with.
Just getting a headstart on our Christmas cards. Neither kid wanted to have pictures taken but I still ended up with pretty good results. Good thing John's pouty face is so cute.
The kids had a really good time trick-or-treating last night. The weather was perfect. However Utah houses suck for it, all of them have really steep steps up to the front door like on our house, so we spent half the night carrying them up and down steps. We ended up going to the townhouse community near us which was much easier. In the end John got really tired and kept falling down so he just stopped walking in the end but also didn't want us to carry him. We once again ended up with too much candy, people just kept giving them more and more because they were cute.
