So for a fun science project we bought an ant farm. Mostly because I've never had one before and had always wanted one. So anyway our ants arrived in the mail yesterday, they came from in state so we got them faster than expected (good thing we decided to check the mail.) The instructions say to put them in the fridge for 10 minutes to slow them down and make it easier to transfer them to the habitat, so I did. Well it slowed them down all right, so much that I was convinced we had killed them (0nly one was moving at all.) So we dumped them in and then most of them fell into the water that had collected at the bottom of the farm, at this point I was pretty sure we were going to kill them all for sure. After about an hour though they woke up and quickly got to work. It's been fun to see how much work they've done in less than 24 hours. They are certainly hard workers. We plan to order more sand and ants after these are gone.
